Degree of Protection IP 20 rates the degree of protection provided against the intrusion of solids larger than 12 mm ∅ (ie. body parts such as fingers).
The protection is satisfactory if adequate clearance is kept between the access probe and hazardous parts.
The chart below shows the various degrees of protection IP that can be performed.
